Camas Books:
Camas Books is a small Infoshop in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada that opened its doors in 2007. It is collectively run by volunteers and sells as well as distributes radical anti-authoritarian and non-hierarchical activism. There are seats to read, places to buy clothes, and art to gaze at. Many of the items for sale are donated by the community and all the profits go to continuing to fund the store and their movements. It is considered a street library and it's an interesting look at how volunteer-run libraries are changing in the face of activism. It is yet another example of a community seeing a need for information and filling it, perhaps one day Camas may end up being a full-fledged bookstore or library. Prison LibrariesPrison libraries are where volunteers help distribute reading material to people who are incarcerated. In fact some of these movements have grown from Infoshops. For example the Prisoners Literature Project which sends books to prisoners and starts libraries in San Francisco was started in the back of a radical infoshop. Some prison libraries just come from communities seeing a need for help or a lack of adequate reading material for prisoners.

So in the summer of 2012 so they formed the Prison Libraries Committee and began doing drop off book services to the local prisons. Their collections are generally donated from weeded books from the state libraries. The Prison Libraries Committee has grown over the past 4 years, and it now serves several prison libraries.
